APPENDIX G – Lists of Five

Introduction:

The previous appendices have taken a vertical view of the data and dealt with the items one alignment of spirits at a time. In this appendix the data is viewed from a horizontal perspective so that all items of a particular type may be seen together. The various lists of five were found in three distinct ways. First are lists of five entities that oppose God’s purposes and appear in a single scripture reference. Second are composite groups of five that were found as the scriptures were searched, looking for all of the names and titles of Satan. Third were items that came out of the scripture references to the reptiles and the personifications when I asked some of the following questions. What are the principalities, powers, and dominions over which they rule? What is their root sin and what other sins (spiritual hosts of wickedness) are associated with them? How do they manifest in the world? What weapons do they use? What do they steal, kill and destroy? For items found in the first two ways, I’ve provided a little bit of the rationale I used to map them into the five alignments of spirits. For the third group, I’ve simply listed them here together.

Lucifer’s Five “I will” Statements:

One of the last lists of five that I associated with Satan’s lieutenants was Lucifer’s five “I will” statements.

Isaiah 14:13-14

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

As a starting point, I laid them up in the same order as the historical occurrence of the five world empires. To my surprise, they fit perfectly.

1. Heaven is the place where God dwells and from which He rules over all His creation. When Satan declares, “I will ascend into heaven” (Isaiah 14:13b), he is declaring his opposition to God and his intent to take over God’s territory. This was associated with the Serpent, because the Serpent moved into God’s territory when he entered the Garden of Eden to tempt Adam and Eve.

2. The stars of God are associated with the heavenly angels in several places in the scriptures. When Satan declared, “I will exalt my throne above the stars of God” (Isaiah 14:13c), he states his intention to rule over all of God’s angels. This is a political motivation to be the biggest and baddest angel of them all. Therefore, it is associated with Behemoth and Goliath.

3. “The congregation” was a colloquialism used by the Jews to refer to themselves as the chosen people of God. When Satan declares, “I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north” (Isaiah 14:13d), he is stating his intent to rule over the people of God. This is associated with the Basilisk spirit and Haman because when God’s people refuse to honor him, he turns on them and tries to destroy them.

4. Those who are worshiped are exalted or raised up. When Satan declares, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds” (Isaiah 14:14a), he is declaring his intention to take God’s worship. This is of course associated with Leviathan, the spirit of religion and idol worship.

5. When one thing is like another thing, they may be interchanged. So when Satan declares, “I will be like the most High” (Isaiah 14:14b), he is stating his intention to replace God. This is the spirit of Antichrist and the sin of blasphemy.

Five Reptilian Representations of Satan:

The five reptiles that metaphorically represent Satan are not found in just a single passage of scripture. I found them as I searched the scriptures looking for the names of Satan. Each of the reptiles emphasizes certain aspects of Satan’s nature. Whether there is another spirit under Satan’s authority that has taken on this title and nature or not, I do not know. But they form a convenient bridge from Satan to the five alignments of spirits under his command

1. The Dragon and the Beast (Antichrist) are directly associated with one another in the book of Revelation.

2. Behemoth is associated with Goliath because of his giant size.

3. Leviathan is commonly associated with the spirit of religion.

4. The poison of Basilisk’s mouth made him a natural to associate with racism and the division caused by the sin of gossip.

5. That left the Serpent to be associated with Jezebel. Here we see the commonality of seduction to satisfy the desires of the flesh.

Five Archetypes of the Biblical Characters that Personify Aspects of Satan’s Nature:

As the research progressed and the personifications were developing, it became apparent that there was an archetype for each of them. These five archetypes were the first people in the scriptures who displayed the characteristics of the five reptilian representations of Satan. Four of them have a curse directly attached to them. Nimrod, however, does not have a curse directly associated with him in scripture. So the archetypes and empowering curses were not included in the original publication of this research. I waited until I found the curse on the government of man before I added them into this document.

1. Eve is associated with Jezebel and the Serpent. Eve was beguiled by the serpent and was the first to sin. She then led her husband to sin. This led to Adam's ultimate death and gave authority to Satan to rule over the earth. God put the curse of sorrow on Eve when she sinned. This curse empowers the Serpent and the principality, powers, and rulers of darkness under its command.

2. Adam is associated with the Antichrist because, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:22). Adam chose to follow his wife Eve into sin. God placed the curse of death on Adam when he sinned. This curse empowers the Dragon and the principality, powers, and rulers of darkness under its command.

3. Cain is associated with Caiaphas and Leviathan, the spirit of religion. Cain was the first person who in pride and self righteousness tried to offer a sacrifice of his own works unto the Lord God. When God rejected Cain's sacrifice he did not repent, but instead he became angry and killed his brother who in faith had offered the righteous sacrifice of a lamb. For his sin, God placed the curse of rejection on Cain. This curse empowers Leviathan and the principality, powers, and rulers of darkness under its command.

4. The people of Babel are associated with Haman and Basilisk. After the great flood in the time of Noah, the people of Babel affronted God by trying to build a tower that would reach up into heaven. They believed that this would make a name for them and keep them all together. This sounds like a clique to me. For their offense, God placed the curse of separation on the people of Babel. This curse empowers Basilisk and the principality, powers, and rulers of darkness under its command.

5. Nimrod is associated with Goliath and the branch of Satan's kingdom that corrupts government. Nimrod was the first to become mighty before the Lord and he was the first to establish a kingdom of man. There is no curse directly associated with Nimrod. The curse of the government of man is not enumerated in the scriptures until the judge/prophet Samuel is old and his sons do not follow in his ways. At that time, the Israelites reject the government of God and demand a king to rule over them and to fight their battles for them. God then tells Samuel to tell the people what the curse of servitude will do to them when they leave God's kingdom for a kingdom of men. This curse empowers the Behemoth and the principality, powers, and rulers of darkness under its command.

Five Curses That Empower Satan's Forces:

Four of the five curses that empower Satan's kingdom were given directly to one of the archetypes. The fifth curse for the government of man had to be searched out and found. These empowering curses provide a legal right for the forces of Satan's kingdom to bedevil unredeemed mankind.

1. The curse of sorrow was placed on Eve when she was beguiled by the serpent and sinned. It empowers the Serpent and the Babylonian principality.

2. The curse of death was placed on Adam when he chose to follow Eve into sin. It empowers the Dragon and the principality of New Rome.

3. The curse of rejection was given to Cain when, in pride and self righteousness, he sacrificed the fruit of his works unto the Lord. This curse empowers Leviathan and the principality of Greece.

4. The curse of separation was placed on the people of Babel for their sin of ethnocentrism when they built a tower to heaven to make a name for themselves and to keep themselves in one place. This curse empowers the Basilisk and the Roman principality.

5. The curse of servitude was revealed in scripture when Israel rejected the government of God and asked for a king to rule over them. The government of man is associated with Nimrod, the archetype who established the first kingdom of man in opposition to the kingdom of God. The curse of servitude empowers Behemoth and the Persian principality.

Five Biblical Characters that Personify Aspects of Satan’s Nature:

Jezebel and Goliath were in my original list of five strongmen that started this research project. As the research progressed, it became evident that personifications were a type unto themselves. So from what I knew at that point, I added three more to make five.

1. Jezebel is associated with the Serpent and the spirit of worldliness. As we saw above, seduction to satisfy the desires of the flesh is the characteristic they have in common.

2. Goliath and Behemoth are put together because of their great size. Their size makes them very intimidating and associates them with the political spirit.

3. Haman is associated with Basilisk and the spirit of racism because of his hatred for the entire Jewish race.

4. Caiaphas is associated with Leviathan and the spirit of religion because he was the leader of the religious establishment that opposed and killed the Lord Jesus Christ.

5. Antichrist is directly associated with the Dragon in the book of Revelation and they are associated with the spirit of control.

Five Root Sins That Support Satan’s Sin of Rebellion:

The root sins of Satan’s lieutenants came directly from the scripture references to the reptiles and personifications.

1. Murder is the root sin of the Serpent/Jezebel class of spirits.

2. Defiance is the root sin of the Behemoth/Goliath class of spirits.

3. Gossip is the root sin of the Basilisk/Haman class of spirits.

4. Pride is the root sin of the Leviathan/Caiaphas class of spirits.

5. Blasphemy is the root sin of the Dragon/Antichrist class of spirits.

Other Sins:

Catalogs of sins were developed from the scripture references to the reptiles and personifications. These would make up the forces of “spiritual wickedness in high places” that are associated with each alignment of spirits.

1. The Serpent/Jezebel class of spirits includes these sins: lying, theft, whoredom, idol worship, adultery, false prophecy, fornication, abominations, filthiness, harlotry, lust, and sorceries.

2. The Behemoth/Goliath class of spirits includes these sins: pride and greed.

3. The Basilisk/Haman class of spirits includes these sins: lying, murder, blasphemy, wrath, stealing, and pride.

4. The Leviathan/Caiaphas class of spirits includes these sins: anger, blasphemy, coveting, doctrines of men, envy, excess, extortion, fear of man, hard heartedness, hatred, hindering belief, hypocrisy, indignation, iniquity, lying, murder, murmuring, perversion, presumption, rejecting the messiah, reviling, self righteousness, sins of omission, taking offense, theft, unbelief, uncleanness, unrepentance, and vain worship.

5. The Dragon/Antichrist class of spirits includes these sins: abominations, defiance, fornication, lying, murder, pride, unrighteousness, and witchcraft.

Five Principalities/World Empires:

The Bible records two prophetic dreams, one given to the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar and the other one given to Daniel, which reveal five successive world empires. These world empires represent five demonic principalities. We get a glimpse of two of them in the following verse.

Daniel 10:20

20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.

The empires/principalities begin with Babylon and are believed to continue with Persia, Greece, Rome, and a final empire that is thought to be some form of a revived Roman empire for which I’ve used the term New Rome. The parts of a man and the beasts come from the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel. The scripture texts can be found in sections detailing the dreams below.

1. Babylon (head of gold, lion) was the birthplace of sorcery and the worship of Ishtar (goddess of love and fertility), so it is associated with Jezebel.

2. Antichrist becomes most prominent at the end of the age, so the last empire, the New Roman Empire (feet of iron and clay, little horn of the Beast), is associated with him.

3. Greece (belly and thighs of bronze, four headed leopard) was divided into many bickering city-states. The Greek people also viewed only those who spoke Greek as civilized. All others were viewed as barbarians. So, it is associated with Basilisk and ethnic division.

4. Rome (legs of iron, Dreadful Beast) was the world empire at the time of Christ and participated in His murder. It also institutionalized state religion, so Leviathan is associated with it.

5. That left Goliath to be associated with the Persian Empire (chest and arms of silver, bear), which stretched all the way to India where the caste system is still visible today.

Five Power Sources Energize Satan’s Lieutenants:

The power aligned with each of Satan’s strongmen came from the scriptures associated with each class of spirits

1. The Serpent/Jezebel spirit’s power can be summed up completely in the word worldliness. We see the motivation to gratify the desires of the flesh behind all that these spirits do. It is unbridled selfishness. If it looks good to you and you want it, then take it. Even if you have to kill somebody to get it, take it anyway. Let the consequences be damned. It was voiced by the Hippy generation of the 1960’s in the saying, “If it feels good, do it.”

2. The power of the Behemoth/Goliath class of spirits is fear. Their intimidating size and strength cause fear, which immobilizes their prey.

3. The Basilisk/Haman spirit’s power comes from ethnocentrism. Ethnocentrism is the emotional attitude that one’s own ethnic group, nation, culture, or clique is superior to all others. The power of ethnocentrism fueled the bickering between the city-states of ancient Greece and their attitude of superiority over all other cultures.

4. The power of the Leviathan/Caiaphas class of spirits is tradition. It comes from the customs, heritage, doctrines of men, and peer pressure to maintain the status quo.

5. The Dragon/Antichrist spirit’s power is to make war. In fact, the Dragon will give the Beast power to make war and to conquer. Most will surrender willingly to his power. But those who don’t will be destroyed without mercy. This includes the saints of God who will refuse to worship the Beast.

“Rulers of the Darkness of this World:”

The scriptures associated with the reptiles and personifications revealed one area where each of these alignments of spirits rules over the darkness in the affairs of man.

1. As we look through all the scriptures concerning the Serpent/Jezebel spirit, we see that the primary target for its corruption is individuals.

2. The scriptures concerning the Behemoth/Goliath spirit reveal that the primary target for its corruption is politics and government.

3. It is easy to see that Basilisk/Haman spirit with the root sin of gossip and the power of ethnocentrism come together to rule over the destruction of relationships.

4. The Leviathan/Caiaphas spirit has been given the responsibility to rule over the darkness in religion and to corrupt it.

5. The Dragon/Antichrist spirit rules over the darkness in economics and commerce. This class of spirits seeks to corrupt mankind through control of their resources.

Manifests in the World:

The scriptures reveal that each of these alignments of spirits have a primary way in which their works manifest in the world.

1. The seduction and manipulation of the Serpent/Jezebel class of spirits manifests in the world as witchcraft.

2. The Behemoth/Goliath spirit is behind all of mankind’s vertical divisions and energizes class warfare. This manifests in the world in all class divisions and caste systems.

3. The Basilisk/Haman class of spirits manifest in all forms of racism and division, including denominations and cliques.

4. Religion has many manifestations in the world, most of them are false and in some way perverted. They usually end up manifesting some form of idol worship, and the Leviathan/Caiaphas class of spirits are the devils behind the idols who receive the worship.

5. The Dragon/Antichrist class of spirits manifest in the world through many forms of tyranny and control.

Weapons:

The scripture references to the reptiles and personifications reveal catalogs of weapons used by each alignment of spirits.

1. The Serpent/Jezebel class of spirits use these weapons: subtlety, lies, temptation, guile, threats, manipulation, children of Belial, false witnesses, corruption, seduction, sorcery, and deception.

2. The Behemoth/Goliath class of spirits use these weapons: intimidation, military might, and deceit.

3. The Basilisk/Haman class of spirits use these weapons: iniquity, violence, evil, wasting, destruction, persecution, deception, misery, and lies.

4. The Leviathan/Caiaphas class of spirits use these weapons: accusation, betrayal, bribery, conspiracy, craftiness, derision, entrapment, false accusation, false witnesses, mockery, persecution, provocation, subtlety, threats, and temptation.

5. The Dragon/Antichrist class of spirits use these weapons: persecution, laws, regulations, deception, and power, signs, and lying wonders.

Steals, Kills, and Destroys:

One of the most interesting results of this research project has been the revelation of the mode of operation for each alignment of spirits under Satan’s command. The scriptures references to the reptiles and personifications reveal what they steal, kill and destroy.

1. The Serpent/Jezebel spirit destroys the covenant relationship, kills the heir, and steals the inheritance.

2. The Behemoth/Goliath spirit steals the initiative, kills courage, and destroys the vision.

3. The Basilisk/Haman spirit destroys the reputation (good name) of a people group. Then it seeks to kill them so it can steal their spoil (material wealth).

4. The Leviathan/Caiaphas spirit steals God’s worship, kills God’s anointed one, and destroys faith in God.

5. The great motivation of the Dragon/Antichrist class of spirits is to totally destroy all testimony unto the one true God of creation and to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only true savior of mankind. This motivation comes from the Beast’s desire to have all men worship him as God. It grows directly from his root sin of blasphemy. The Beast uses two levels of force to achieve his goal. The first is to steal freedom through tyrannical laws and economic regulations. If the Lord’s witnesses refuse to acknowledge the Beast’s control, then he has power to make war on them and to kill them for their testimony to God.

The Five Parts of the Statue in Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream:

The complete text of this dream and its interpretation is found in the second chapter of Daniel. The parts of the statue were mapped to the strongmen based on the world empires they represent.

Daniel 2:31-45

31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32 This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass,

33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.

37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.

38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.

39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

The Four Beasts and Little Horn of Daniel’s Dream:

The fourth beast produces the little horn that speaks great things. That makes five entities. The complete story of this dream and its interpretation is found in the seventh chapter of Daniel. The beasts were mapped to the strongmen based on the world empires they represent.

Daniel 7:3-8

3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

The following lists of kings and cities are the most speculative in their association with the alignments of spirits. The method used to make the associations was to look up the meaning of the names in Strong’s Concordance and then to determine where they best fit based on their definitions.

Five Canaanite People Groups:

When God called Moses at the burning bush to be the deliverer of His people; He identified five people groups in Canaan whose land would be given to the children of Israel.

Exodus 3:8

8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

1. Hittite means terror, to prostrate; hence to break down by violence or confusion and fear. It comes from roots that mean to abolish, affright, amaze, beat down, discourage, dismay, scare, and terrify. So the Hittites are associated with the Behemoth/Goliath class of spirits and their power of fear.

2. Amorite means publicity, prominence, a mountaineer, and to boast. So the Amorites are associated with the Leviathan/Caiaphas class of spirits and their root sin of pride.

3. Perizzite means open country, rustic village, or unwalled town. So the Perizzites are associated with the Basilisk/Haman class of spirits and their root sin of gossip, which knows neither bounds nor propriety.

4. Hivite means a villager, life giving, and eve the first woman. So the Hivites are associated with the Serpent/Jezebel class of spirits because of their feminine nature.

5. Jebusite means trodden or a threshing place. The Jebusite stronghold was Jerusalem and their king took the title Adonizedek, which means lord of justice (or righteousness). He ruled in Jerusalem, which means peace, so he was also the prince of peace. So the Jebusites are associated with the Dragon/Antichrist class of spirits who oppose the true lord of righteousness and prince of peace the Lord Jesus Christ who will return and rule the earth from Jerusalem. We may also note that this class of spirits is most prominent in the last days, which are known as a time of harvest and ties us back with the definition of a threshing place.

The Five Princes of Midian:

Shortly before Moses died and the children of Israel crossed the Jordan into the Promised Land, God commanded them to destroy the five kings of Midian.

Numbers 31:8

8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

1. Evi means desirous, covet, lust, adversary, and hating. He is associated with the Dragon/Antichrist class of spirits because of its desire to replace God and the hatred that breeds.

2. Rekem means versi-color, embroiderer, to fabricate. He is associated with the Basilisk/Haman class of spirits because of its fabrication of lies, its two faced nature, and the intricate embroidery of its gossip.

3. Zur means rock, sharp, stone, strength, and strong. It comes from a root that means to bind the back of the neck (as that on which burdens are bound). So it is associated with the Behemoth/Goliath class of spirits because of its strength and because of the burdens it places upon others.

4. Hur means to bore, the crevice of a serpent, the cell of a prison, and a hole. It comes from a root that means to blanch, wax pale, white linen, and white. So there is an obvious association with the Serpent and Jezebel, who tries to pass herself off as virtuous and pure (clean and white) even though she satisfies every desire of her flesh.

5. Reba means the fourth part, a side, or a square. By the process of elimination, he is associated with the Leviathan/Caiaphas class of spirits that just happen to be the fourth alignment on our list of five. But we also see that a square is a symbol of completeness, and religion is man’s attempt to restore the completeness he had when he was in fellowship with God.

The Five Kings of the Amorites:

When Joshua began the conquest of the Promised Land, he was opposed by five kings of the Amorites.

Joshua 10:3-4

3 Wherefore Adonizedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,

4 Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.

1. Debir means oracle and Eglon means calf (a common idol), so he is associated with Jezebel who championed the false prophets and idol worship in Israel.

2. Adonizedek means lord of justice and Jerusalem means peace, so he is associated with Antichrist who tries to supplant the true Lord of Righteousness and Prince of Peace.

3. Hoham’s name comes from a root of uncertain derivation and Hebron means associations, so he is paired with Basilisk who rules over relationships.

4. Piram means wild ass and Jarmuth means elevation, so he seems to be a good match for Goliath the giant champion.

5. That left Japhia, which means bright, and Lachish, whose meaning is uncertain, to be associated with Leviathan, who brings the false light of religion.

Five Cities of the Philistines:

When Saul and David ruled Israel, they were opposed by the five cities of the Philistines.

1 Samuel 6:17

17 And these are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the LORD; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;

1. Goliath was from Gath so that is a natural association. Gath means winepress, a place where things are pressed or beaten.

2. Ashkelon means weighing, so it is associated with religion and the concept of weighing sins against good deeds.

3. Ekron means eradication, so it is associated with Jezebel who tried to eradicate the prophets of God.

4. Ashdod means ravager and seems to be a good fit with Basilisk and racism.

5. That left Gaza, which means strong, to be associated with Antichrist, who is associated with the god of force (or fortresses) in Daniel 11:38-39.

Goliath and His Four Brothers:

David slew the giant Goliath, but his four brothers continued to oppose Israel until David’s men also killed them.

2 Samuel 21:15-22

15 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.

16 And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.

17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel.

18 And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.

19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

20 And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

21 And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.

22 These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

1 Chronicles 20:4-8

4 And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.

5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.

6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot: and he also was the son of the giant.

7 But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.

8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

1. Goliath’s name means exile, and he is Behemoth’s Biblical personification.

2. Ishbibenob means his dwelling is in nob, which in turn means fruit. He is associated with the Serpent, who used the forbidden fruit to tempt Eve.

3. Saph means a gate or threshold and also a bowl, cup or other container. This represents all of the things that divide mankind and is therefore associated with the Basilisk.

4. Lahmi means full of food. The Lord Jesus Christ is the bread of life, but the Leviathan gives mankind the false food of religion. So Lahmi is associated with Leviathan.

5. That left the unnamed giant to be associated with the Dragon, who empowers the Beast of Revelation. This Beast will be filled with the spirit of Antichrist and his name is yet to be revealed.

The Five-Fold Ministry of Jesus Christ:

Another list of five found in the Bible is the five-fold ministry gifts given by the Lord to build up and perfect the body of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-12

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

These, of course, are not part of the kingdom of darkness. Instead, it appears that each of Satan’s five lieutenants have been given the responsibility to oppose one of these ministries.

1. Jezebel opposed and tried to eradicate the true prophets of God. This is the battle of self-will versus righteousness (Gods will).

2. Basilisk tries to kill by division, so he opposes pastors who have the job of keeping the flock. This is the battle of division versus unity.

3. Religion is composed of false doctrines and the traditions of men, so this pits Leviathan against the teachers. It is the battle of works versus faith.

4. Antichrist tries to bring everything into subjection to himself, but evangelists bring the good news of salvation that sets us free. This is the battle between control and liberty.

5. That leaves Apostles, who come in the authority and power of God, to be opposed by Goliath, who represents the power of titles and position. This is the battle of credentials versus anointing.
